Servitude

Romans 8:1-4

Through the Old Covenant, God gave us a chance to live in righteousness, but that covenant, because of our fleshly weakness and lack of will, was unable to set us free. God, through Christ, did what the blood of bulls and goats could not — He bought and freed us.

Romans 6:18

Though freed from the penalty of death, we have merely left one servitude to enter another. The debt we owe Him for paying the price for our liberty has bound us to serve Him.

1 Corinthians 7:21-23

Christ endured the pain, the shame, the fear, the loss, and the death justly meant for us as a penalty for our sinfulness. His blood sacrifice obligates us to serve our Liberator and use our new freedom to live solely in His service, in return for His love and compassion.

Luke 22:17-20

Jesus Christ underwent our rightful punishment for us. He became like us, a lowly fleshly man, to serve us and set us free to the lighter, freer servitude to the King of Kings. What incomprehensible love and mercy!
